Karen Marklein | Principal

My name is Karen Marklein. This is my¬† ninth year at Sacred Heart School as principal. My entire career has been in a Catholic school within the Diocese of Madison. My first teaching job was at SS. Andrew-Thomas School in Potosi. During my fifteen years there, I taught second–fifth grades, with the majority of the time in a combined class of third-fourth graders. An opportunity came up for me to teach in the same Catholic school that I attended as a child, St. John the Evangelist School, in Spring Green. There I taught for 3 years as the third grade teacher before becoming a teaching principal for the remainder of my time there. God called me to do something more with my life when He sent me here to be the principal at Sacred Heart School! I have four sisters, four nephews, a grandnephew, and a grandniece. My commute from Spring Green is a great opportunity for me to pray and reflect. Life can be AMAZING and filled with positive experiences, so take time to find them.
